60,000 curious visitors in Ulsan — Clevi Physical AI at the Local Era Expo

🤖 Hello, this is Clevi.
We spent three days, from 19 to 21 November, at the 2025 Korea Local Era Expo held at the Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center.
Here’s the story of those three days showcasing Physical AI at the Gyeonggi Province Pavilion. 🙌

What is the 2025 Korea Local Era Expo?

Now in its fourth year, the Korea Local Era Expo is the largest regional policy exhibition in South Korea. Under the slogan 'K-BALANCE 2025', 17 cities and provinces and 47 organisations came together in one place.
Co-hosted by the Presidential Committee on Local Era, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Ulsan Metropolitan City, the event showcased each region’s policy achievements and future vision, centred on the national balanced growth strategy of five hubs and three special regions.
More than 60,000 people visited over the three days, and Ulsan officially promoted its vision of becoming an 'AI capital city'.

While 17 cities and provinces set up exhibition halls by region, we at Clevi took our place in the Gyeonggi Province Pavilion.

We took part as part of the exhibition of Gyeonggi Province’s advanced industries and AI technologies. Once we had finished setting up the booth, we couldn’t help feeling excited.
We were both looking forward to and a little worried about how many people would be interested in Physical AI.

The hottest corner over the three days — the Interact with a Robot event

Copy the movements

When a visitor made a movement, the robot copied it in real time. It was the most intuitive way to demonstrate teleoperation technology.
Some visitors initially waved only their hands cautiously, while others gradually became more confident and created movements with their whole bodies. It was especially memorable to see entire families taking turns to try it.

Rock–paper–scissors challenge

In this event, visitors played rock–paper–scissors one-on-one against the robot, and it was far more popular than expected.

Visitors could experience first-hand how the AI recognised and interpreted their hand shape using a camera. We saw many people lose several rounds in a row before saying, "Just one more!" There were also several moments when applause broke out around the winners.

"So, what is this used for?"

Physical AI is a technology that brings AI, which had remained in the digital realm, into contact with the physical world.
Teleoperation is a method where a robot replicates a person's movements exactly, while on-device AI can be thought of as a small AI brain built into the robot itself.
In practice, it can be used in areas such as hazardous work environments, manufacturing sites and disaster response.
Some people also asked, "Isn't this taking people's jobs?" — and this is how we answered:
"This technology doesn't replace people; it protects them."

From seniors speaking to the robots and people queuing to take selfies, to those surprised to see Physical AI and saying, "So this kind of technology is coming out of Gyeonggi Province" — we spent three meaningful days showcasing Physical AI in person at an event attended by 60,000 people, receiving unexpected business enquiries and enjoying a diverse range of attractions, including the Ulsan Pavilion's "Ulsan, the AI capital" exhibition and the Five Poles, Three Special Zones food festival.

Looking forward to our next meeting

Thank you to everyone who visited the Gyeonggi Province Pavilion booth.
You can meet Clevi again at the Engineering Festival being held next week in Magok, Seoul. This time, we'll be showcasing Coding Agent alongside Physical AI.
Come and experience Clevi's even wider range of AI technologies for yourself!
