Accidents in care settings can occur when there is a gap between staffing levels and the moments when care is needed. At night in particular, it is difficult to continuously monitor every situation because a limited number of staff must check multiple residents simultaneously. MoniCare is an AI-assisted safety management system that analyses CCTV footage with AI to detect residents’ risky movements in real time and connect them to staff notifications and response records.
AI-assisted safety management system, MoniCare
A real-time video analysis and notification system is needed to identify potentially dangerous situations, even when they are difficult for people to see. MoniCare analyses real-time CCTV footage to detect risky movements such as leaving the bed, unstable postures and wandering. Detected situations are sent to staff as notifications, and the subsequent response process can also be recorded.
You can use your existing CCTV system
Facilities do not necessarily need to replace their existing CCTV systems to implement MoniCare. The camera resolution, viewing angle and installation location are checked to determine whether integration with AI analysis is possible. Camera replacement or additional installation can be considered only for locations that are difficult to analyse with the existing cameras.
Connect detection to response through records
When a dangerous situation occurs, the detection time, notification delivery, staff confirmation and on-site response process can be recorded in chronological order. Snapshots before and after the incident, VLM analysis results and the event timeline can be reviewed together, allowing the records to be used for shift handovers, confirming the circumstances of an incident and facility operations.
| Record item | Use |
|---|---|
| Time of dangerous situation detection | Confirm when the situation occurred |
| Staff notification | Confirm when the notification was delivered |
| Staff confirmation | Confirm whether the response began |
| On-site response | Review the response process before and after the incident |
| Snapshots and VLM analysis results | Review the detected situation and analysis details |
| Event timeline | Review the entire response flow in chronological order |
Video is analysed within the facility
CCTV footage from care facilities may contain sensitive personal information, including residents’ images and details about their daily lives. MoniCare is designed to use an on-device approach that processes footage on servers or edge devices within the facility. Original footage is not transmitted to external cloud services, and snapshots and log data are also stored within the facility, with access permissions able to be differentiated according to user roles.
Reduces gaps in overnight care safety management
MoniCare goes beyond simply viewing CCTV by using AI to detect dangerous situations in footage and link them to staff alerts and response records. This helps staff quickly identify situations requiring their attention and systematically manage information from before and after an incident.
