Accidents in care settings can occur due to gaps between staffing availability and moments when care is needed. This is especially challenging at night, when limited staff must monitor multiple residents simultaneously, making it difficult to continuously observe every situation. MoniCare is an AI-assisted safety management system that analyses CCTV footage with AI, detects residents’ risky movements in real time, and connects them to staff alerts and response records.
AI-assisted safety management system, MoniCare
A real-time video analysis and alert system is needed to identify potentially dangerous situations even when they are difficult for staff to observe directly. MoniCare analyses real-time CCTV footage to detect risky movements such as getting out of bed, unstable postures and wandering. Detected situations are sent as staff alerts, and the subsequent response process can also be recorded.
You can use your existing CCTV system
It is not necessary to replace a facility’s existing CCTV system to implement MoniCare. We check the cameras’ resolution, viewing angles and installation locations to determine whether they can be integrated with AI analysis. Camera replacement or additional installation can be considered only for locations that are difficult to analyse with the existing cameras.
Connect detection to response through records
When a risky situation occurs, the detection time, alert dispatch, staff confirmation and on-site response process can be recorded in chronological order. Snapshots before and after the incident, VLM analysis results and the event timeline can be reviewed together, supporting shift handovers, confirmation of the incident details and facility operation records.
| Record item | Use |
|---|---|
| Time of risky situation detection | Check when the situation occurred |
| Staff alert | Check when the alert was delivered |
| Staff confirmation | Check whether the response began |
| On-site response | Check the response process before and after the incident |
| Snapshots and VLM analysis results | Check the detected situation and analysis details |
| Event timeline | Review the entire response flow in chronological order |
Videos are analysed within the facility
CCTV footage in care facilities may contain sensitive personal information, including residents’ appearances and daily living details. MoniCare is designed to use an on-device approach that processes footage on servers or edge devices within the facility. Original footage is not transmitted to external cloud services, and snapshots and log data are also stored within the facility, with access permissions differentiated according to user roles.
Reduces gaps in safety management during night-time care
MoniCare goes beyond simply checking CCTV by using AI to detect hazardous situations in the footage and link them to staff alerts and response records. This helps staff quickly identify situations that require attention and systematically manage information from before and after an incident.
